Overview of 2nd Grade Art

 

In Kindergarten, students explore the theme of Community.

 

Students will examine this theme through Big Ideas, including:

• People create communities to help each other.  

• There are many different types of communities.  

• Living things form communities.  

• People have responsibilities within a community.  

• Artists build communities.  

• Communities can develop their own unique ways to create and appreciate art.  

• Culture and traditions have influenced the design of artwork produced by communities throughout history.
