Overview of Kindergarten Art

 

In Kindergarten, students explore the theme of Curiosity & Wonder.

 

Students will examine this theme through Big Ideas, including:

  • Curiosity and wonder inspire artists to create.

  • Imagination leads to curiosity and wonder

  • Being curious helps artists solve creative problems.

  • Engaging with art leads to curiosity and new ideas.

  • Artists are curious about the people, places, and things in their world.

  • Art makes us wonder about other people, times, and places.

VA:CR.1.1.K.a. Engage in self-directed exploration to generate ideas for artwork.
